Some may fear a message from God, like the shepherds hearing the news of Jesus, but this initial fear turned out to be a blessing in the birth of Jesus and so it is with us. We need to disrupt our lives to spend more time with God and know that when we cry out to Him, we do not need to be afraid - we are talking to someone who loves us. Without an understanding of the revelation of where God is taking us, we will just do our own thing because we feel we should have faith in our life. Living out whole Christianity means embodying the greatest commandment. There are three postures that describe what this looks like: standing firm - using all our mind; kneeling - using all our heart and soul; and running - using all our strength. We need to stand in truth, wisdom, our thought life and choices. This is foundational. We also need to kneel before God in surrender and intimacy. Finally, we need to serve our neighbours, engaging our tithe, time and talents to reach the unloved, unreached and unknown.
