Jesus tells the woman at the well that there is water she can have that will never allow her to be thirsty again. At the conclusion of their conversation, Jesus reveals who He is to the woman - the Messiah she expected to come! Through her faith and testimony to others, many people believed and were saved. We know the message of Jesus and the living water He can provide to others. Is our life reflecting the difference Jesus has made to us and are we sharing the message and hope of Jesus with others when the opportunity presents itself to us?

As Christians, whilst we face physical challenges in our life, the ongoing battle we face is in the spiritual realm. We are constantly in a spiritual battle, being led away from God by worldly influences. We cannot fight this battle without praying. We need to be in constant communion with God, not only in asking for His help and support, but by also praising Him in all the things that He has done and will do for us. Prayer is the power to victory. Paul also reminds us that we are to be ever watchful for other Christians and be in prayer for them. When we take the time to be in prayer to God, it is then that He can work in us, rather than trying to do everything in our own strength.

As Christians, when we made a commitment to follow Jesus Christ, we made the decision to change our worldly ways and live a life worthy in God's eyes. In this passage Paul tells the Ephesians to avoid the worldly ways they have been used to and encourages them in how they should now live. In our Christian lives today we need to allow the Holy Spirit to have access to all of our life. In this way our life will reflect to others the difference God can make by having Him dwell within us. The challenge for us today is the same as it was for the Ephesians. We need to say things that are helpful in building one another up, be kind, compassionate and forgiving of each other. What choice of living will you make - submitting to self or submitting to Jesus Christ?

As a Christian, unity is not an option for us. In this passage we see how God would want to work in the church. Unity does not just happen - it takes affort, sacrifice and submission to each other. Our actions should match what we believe. Being humble and gentle is having your strength under control. Unity requires us to show patience with each other. If we try for unity in our own strength we will fail. It is only through God's Spirit that allows us to obtain true unity. Living a life worthy of our calling, humility, gentleness, patience and bearing with each other in love. Which of these do you find the most difficult to apply in your life?

It can be easy so say 'no' to God about the direction we should take in our life because we can't see how it might turn out for us. 'No' is an important word as it goes hand in hand with the word 'yes'. Sometimes we can't say 'yes' to do one thing without saying 'no' to something else. In using our abilities for God we need to recognise that God already owns everything we have, He gives us abilities to use for Him and we are to use those abilities. What keeps you from using your God given abilities for Him? Will you say 'yes' or 'no' to Him?
