Connecting with the King
Sunday, 26 February 2017
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Matthew 12:38-50
Series:
Follow the King
The Pharisees request Jesus to show a miraculous sign to prove that He was the Messiah. Jesus in turn elects to challenge there own believe and faith by aligning the story of Jonah with his own death and resurrection. The Pharisees had the opportunity to receive Jesus as their Saviour, but they choose to reject Him. Today we have the same opportunity to believe in Jesus, accept Him and put our full trust in Him. Do you have your life focussed on Jesus?

Passage:
Matthew 9:1-13
Series:
Follow the King
Duration:
34 mins 55 secs
In this passage we see the heart Jesus' ministry and the extent of Jesus' authority - the authority to forgive sins and heal the sick. True discipleship requires leaving our old life behind and to enter into a new life with Jesus. We all sin and so we all need Jesus. From this passage, who do you align with - Matthew or the Pharisees? Live Like a King
Sunday, 12 February 2017
by

Passage:
Matthew 6:19-24
Series:
Follow the King
Duration:
25 mins 20 secs
Jesus wants to be our heart's desire. Where do you store your treasure? Jesus tells us that storing up treasures on earth will enslave our heart, mind and will and miss out on the opportunities that Jesus has planned for us. If we seek material things, we stumble in darkness. Our treasures ought to be used for God's glory.

Here Comes the King
Sunday, 05 February 2017
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Matthew 3:1-17
Series:
Follow the King
Duration:
25 mins 2 secs
Jesus is the King - the Lord of us all. In this passage John's message to the people is one of judgement and encouraging them to repent of their sins and be living for God and not themselves. The people needed to be ready for what Jesus had to say as he commenced His on earth ministry. Today, we need to be ready for the return of Jesus. When we trust in Jesus we are born again and baptised by the Holy Spirit. Does your daily life reflect a repented sinner and show full trust in Jesus?

Seeking Joy and Humility In Our Life
Sunday, 29 January 2017
by
Matthew Cowcher
Passage:
Luke 1:39-56
Duration:
21 mins 28 secs
In this passage we see the joy that both Mary and Elizabeth experienced. As Christians, we can experience this same joy knowing that Jesus was born, He lived, He died for our sins, He rose from the grave and we will spend an eternal life with Him. We can have joy because God has acted and shown us love and mercy. Even though we are saved, the right relationship we can have with God is recognising that we are eternally dependent on Him. We need to be obedient, as Mary was. Through obedience to God, His Spirit has the opportunity to fill us with humility. We can be humble because Jesus has chosen us to be a part of His family, which has nothing to do with what we have done.

The Transient and the Steady State
Sunday, 22 January 2017
by
Matt Hellyer
Passage:
1 Peter 1:3-9
&
1 Peter 1:13-23
Duration:
24 mins 29 secs
Unlike God, we have a beginning on this earth - the day we are born. We have a choice on how we live our lives. We can choose to reject Jesus or accept that it is only through Him that we can have an eternal future with God. For Christians, the choice to follow Jesus is the opportunity to widen our focus on the day to day things that we face. We can now consider the eternal perspective of our lives and for those things that we think are big isues now become small. We can now value the power of prayer and trust God completely because he is sovereign over all things, and that in all things, He works for the good of those who love Him.

What We Value - Prayer
Sunday, 20 November 2016
by
Don Hewitt
Passage:
Colossians 4:2-6
Duration:
46 mins 14 secs
Prayer is talking with God, being still, waiting and listening to what He has to say to us. Prayer is not just a mere list of our requests of God. It is about what is happening deep in our hearts and having a close relationship with God. In this passage Paul says that we are to devote ourselves to prayer, a theme he carries across all of his letters, that we are to be diligent in prayer and pray continually. What does this mean? We need to: (a) cry out to God with all of our needs and requests and to be honest with Him; (b) turn our constant thoughts into a conversation with God; and (c) learn to listen to God in our heart through a discipline and a lifestyle of meditation and contemplation.

What We Value - the Bible
Sunday, 30 October 2016
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Matthew 7:24-29
Duration:
33 mins 9 secs
We face all type of trials as we live through life. When life comes against us we need to have a firm foundation, one that is based on on the words of Jesus. Jesus tells us that we have the choice of wether to walk with Him or to go our own way. Which way are you walking and is it on the narrow path to eternal life, bearing good fruit as you witness to others? If we want to hear Jesus then we need to spend time in His word, the Bible, and then apply it to our lives. Knowing is not worth anything if we do not act on it!

Up, In, Out
Sunday, 23 October 2016
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
John 15:1-17
Duration:
23 mins 7 secs
We need to grow up in Christ, grow in by loving each other and grow out by bearing fruit - sharing the gospel with others. If we are not connected to Jesus, then we can do nothing in bearing fruit. How important is God in your life?

Jesus: Keep Loving
Sunday, 16 October 2016
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Hebrews 13:1-25
Duration:
33 mins 13 secs
If you want to have true worship with God, then this will influence every aspect of our life. In this passage we see that we are to love others, in action, including to those outside our circle of friends. We also need to work with each other as we look to serve God and we need to equip and encourage each other so that we can lead others to Jesus.
