In chapter 9 we are invited to either dine with Lady Wisdom, who will bring us life, or eat with Lady Folly, who will bring us death. The choice is ours. Which party are you going to attend?

First, the one who makes foolish promises of repaying a loan of another that they can't repay. Second, someone who is lazy and unproductive and third, a person who is a liar. In this passage there are warnings about the high cost of immorality where things that are sweet can turn sour, where gain can turn to loss, where purity can lead to pollution and freedom can lead to bondage. All our actions are in full view of the Lord and we need to rely on Jesus being in our lives to guide and direct us on the right path to salvation.

We cannot gain eternal life by living a right life, we gain it by submitting ourselves to the one (Jesus) who has lived the perfect life and who is the Light of the world.

God reinforces in this passage the value of wisdom and that there is nothing that can compare to it. Until we understand the true value of wisdom, we will not fully appreciate it or seek after it. Wisdom is a tree of life and following wisdom will lead to eternal life which is found in Jesus where all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden.
