Joshua - The Lord Is With You
Sunday, 19 May 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Deuteronomy 31:1-8
Series:
Joshua
Duration:
37 mins 51 secs
The time had come for Moses to pass on the leadership of the Israel nation to Joshua so that God's promise to lead the people across the Jordan River into the promised land could be fulfilled. Moses mentored Joshua to prepare him for the leadership role ahead. Who are we teaching and equipping to reach people for Christ? Are we taking advantage of the opportunities that God puts before us? God tells the people of Israel that he will go before them as they move into the promised land. We can have this same confidence today knowing that Jesus has already gone before us, but He also goes with us and never leaves us in everything we do.

Joshua - Faith and Trust in God
Sunday, 12 May 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Numbers 14:1-10
Series:
Joshua
Duration:
25 mins 14 secs
Of the 12 men oppointed by Moses to explore the land of Canaan, 10 of these reported back of diffficult circumstances and forgot about God. We are prone to do the same thing in our everday life - we see the problems and forget about how God can lead us through them. Unbelief makes our problems big and God small. Joshua and Caleb put their trust in God and did not see the problems in Canaan that God could not overcome. We need to have this same trust that God has promised through His Son, Jesus Christ. Through Jesus we can overcome anything that life demands of us - we just need to be a person of faith, accept Jesus into our life and trust in Him.

Joshua - Be Strong and Courageous
Sunday, 05 May 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Exodus 17:8-16
Series:
Joshua
Duration:
36 mins 10 secs
Joshua is a man of obedience - he does not hesitate to do the instructions of God as told through Moses. Joshua needed to be strong and courageous in God's plan for him , but most importantly, he needed to be faithful to God. Joshua was a man of action, but he was also a man of devotion to the Lord. God didn't need Joshua to carry out the battle - He could have dealt with the Amalekites by Himself. The same is for us today. God does not need us to fulfil His ministry, but he does choose to involve us. If we want to have an effective ministry for God, then we need to prepare, by spending devotional time with Him, as Joshua did.

The Enormity of God
Sunday, 28 April 2013
by
Joel Hollier
Passage:
Ephesians 3:14-14:1
Duration:
25 mins 13 secs
In this passage Paul wanted God's holy people in Ephesus to realise that Jesus Christ dwells in the heart of believers - the enormity of God choosing to be in their hearts. He also wanted them to understand the vast extent of the love of Christ. Paul had sacrificed so much to make this known to the people of his time. That same realisation is true for Christians today. The challenge for us is: Are we bringing glory to God, that others will see, in our everday life? Are we living lives that are worthy of the call of God? Does everything we do point to Christ?

Jesus the I AM Changes Who I Am
Sunday, 21 April 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Revelation 22:12-16
Series:
The 'I Am' Statements of Jesus
Duration:
17 mins 43 secs
Jesus was in existance before the world began and He will be there in the end. He knows everthing about us. From looking at the I AM statements of Jesus over the past few weeks, it has all been about connecting yourself to Him, which is what we are called to do. We are to connect to Jesus, to look to Him and to keep our eyes fixed upon Him. Is this true for you?

Who Do You Say I Am?
Sunday, 14 April 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Mark 8:27-38
Series:
The 'I Am' Statements of Jesus
Duration:
34 mins 29 secs
In this passage Jesus asks His disciples, "Who do people say I am?". Some people thought He was John the Baptist or Elijah or one of the prophets. Peter responded that Jesus was the Messiah. We know that the Messiah will defeat sin and death. God's victory is gained through death and resurrection. We need to align ourselves with God's will. We need to trust on God's provision. 'I AM' changes who I am. How has Jesus, the I AM, changed your life?

I Am the True Vine
Sunday, 07 April 2013
by
Matt Hellyer
Passage:
John 15:1-17
Series:
The 'I Am' Statements of Jesus
Duration:
23 mins 48 secs
In the last of Jesus’ ‘I Am’ statements in the gospel of John, Jesus uses the illustration of a gardener and a vine and its branches to convey the spiritual reality of the relationship and work of the Father, Himself and His disciples. Jesus declares that He is the true vine in comparison with Israel, His Father is the gardener who cuts off dead branches and prunes the weak ones, and that we as disciples are the branches. He calls us to remain in Him, to know our place, to be fruitful and to show love, all for God’s glory. What do these things look like for you?

The Rich Young Ruler
Sunday, 31 March 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
Luke 18:18-30
Duration:
17 mins 2 secs
The rich young ruler had his life full, then tried to squeeze God into it in some way. What will be our response at this Easter time as we reflect on the cross and the empty tomb? Are we going to have God first in our lives and allow Him to fill us or are we going to keep our lives and hold on tight to our worldly ways and walk away sad just like the rich man did?

Passage:
John 14:1-14
Series:
The 'I Am' Statements of Jesus
Duration:
30 mins 29 secs
Jesus speaks words of comfort to His disciples in a time of trouble in their lives. He says for them not to worry, but to trust in Him and in God. We too can find the same comfort when we turn to the One who is the way, truth and life.

I Am the Resurrection and the Life
Sunday, 17 March 2013
by
Phil Irvine
Passage:
John 11:17-44
Series:
The 'I Am' Statements of Jesus
Duration:
30 mins 48 secs
In this passage we meet a family that is stricken by sickness, gripped by grief and defeated by death. Jesus words “I AM the Resurrection and the Life” are not just empty words used to bring hollow comfort, but are words that are full of hope, power and victory as he brings Lazarus back from the dead. The words and the reality are for you as well. Do you believe this?
