As we think about 'dedication' today, this passage shows us what the rich young rule was 'dedicated' to. Instead of God taking first place, his own righteousness and wealth took centre stage. What are you 'dedicated' to? 

Paul continues to talk about what it means to live in connection with others. This section is all about love; love for those in the church, especially those who are in need and love for those who oppose us and stand against God.

In this passage, Paul talks about the mystery he has already outlined in the letter, the mystery of the gospel about Jesus Christ: Everyone needs salvation because we have all sinned. ▪ The price (or consequence) of sin is death. ▪ Jesus Christ died for our sins. He paid the price for our sin.  ▪ We receive salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.  ▪ Salvation through Jesus brings us into a relationship of peace with God. Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God. Trust in Him!

In Chapter 10, Paul talks about the responsibility of every person to respond to the good news about Jesus who is the only way of salvation. Once you have found salvation in Jesus, you then have the responsibility of sharing that good news with others.

In this section, we see two attributes of God coming together; His faithfulness and His righteousness. God is faithful in wanting all people to come to Him and be saved, but He is also just and will punish people for their rejection of Him.
